This study adopts Roland Barthes' semiotic theory analyzing song “Somebody” by Jungkook, focusing on between denotation, connotation, and myth. Using qualitative content analysis, the study investigates how it constructs and deconstructs romantic myths about love, heartbreak, and emotional detachment. While the lyrics do follow traditional narratives-eternal love and moving on linearly-eventually its betray those ideals by illustrating heartbreak as rather complex and non-linear. The revelation this study provides is that “Somebody” operates both as reflecting dominant ideological configurations in the culture and a criticism of them, thereby, adding even more nuanced reflections on post-breakup emotions. Engaging Barthesian semiotics, this study brings to light the popular music's view of creating and recreating perceptions of love, loss, and resilience the listener might have. The findings are also part of broader debates on semiotics in music beyond the narrative of contemporary culture as relevant to the lyrical narrative. 2025-11-25T07:02:47+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Aulia Putri https://www.journal.unrika.ac.id/index.php/journalcahayapendidikan/article/view/8440 The effectiveness of using webtoon-based comic media on student’s math anxiety 2026-01-13T05:53:49+07:00 edsyofyana@gmail.com indrianihesti99@gmail.com virasafitri5114@gmail.com athagian.salma@gmail.com asmaul@fkip.unrika.ac.id The background of this research is based on the high level of students’ anxiety toward mathematics, especially in physiological, cognitive, and behavioral aspects. The ethnomathematics approach is used to connect the concept of sets with local cultural elements through the Makyong dance. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Webtoon comic learning media based on ethnomathematics and Makyong dance in reducing math anxiety among Hang Nadim Batam vocational school students on the topic of sets, with a sample of 17 students from a population of 66 eleventh-grade students. The research method used is a quasi-experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument is a math anxiety questionnaire analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and N-Gain. Based on the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test results, the Z value = -3.624 with Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000. Since the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) < α (0.000 < 0.05), H is rejected and H₁ is accepted. The results show a decrease in students’ math anxiety, with an average pretest score of 41.71 and a posttest score of 74.88. The average N-Gain score of 0.56 indicates a moderate level of effectiveness. Thus, the use of Webtoon comic learning media based on ethnomathematics and Makyong dance is proven to be quite effective in significantly reducing students’ math anxiety. 2025-11-25T07:02:51+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Cahaya Pendidikan https://www.journal.unrika.ac.id/index.php/journalcahayapendidikan/article/view/8302 Analysis of the implementation of the Love Curriculum as an effort to improve ecological understanding of Madrasah Tsanawiyah students 2026-01-13T05:53:54+07:00 guruipa1995@gmail.com iinpermatasaripratama@gmail.com kiyoqaishan2025@gmail.com emyherawati042@gmail.com farahforstudy27@gmail.com This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Love Curriculum as a strategy to enhance ecological understanding among students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah. The research is motivated by the existing gap between students’ ecological knowledge and its practical application in daily life, where learning that focuses primarily on cognitive aspects has not fully succeeded in fostering ecological awareness and attitudes. The research method employed is a qualitative approach with a literature review design, involving the collection, examination, and analysis of various sources related to ecological education, character education, and the Love Curriculum. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive-analytical content analysis to identify the forms of Love Curriculum implementation, the obstacles encountered in its application, and its impact on students’ ecological attitudes. The findings reveal that the implementation of the Love Curriculum is realized through the integration of love values in subject learning, extracurricular activities, teacher role modeling, and school-based programs. The challenges identified include limited teacher understanding, lack of supporting facilities, low student participation, and insufficient support from the social environment. Nevertheless, the application of the Love Curriculum has shown a positive impact in shaping students’ ecological attitudes, both individually, collectively, and affectively. 2025-11-25T07:02:55+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Pratama, M.A https://www.journal.unrika.ac.id/index.php/journalcahayapendidikan/article/view/8474 The effect of Heyzine flipbook-based digital learning media on students' understanding of mathematical concepts 2026-01-13T05:53:59+07:00 yesigusmania18@gmail.com yesigusmania18@gmail.com ismartisohieb@gmail.com Based on a preliminary survey, students at Grade X SMK IT Darussalam Boarding School 01 Batam demonstrated a low understanding of mathematical concepts. This study aimed to examine: (1) the effect of Heyzine Flipbook-based digital learning media on students’ mathematical concept understanding, (2) the effect of conventional learning, and (3) the differences between the two methods. Using a quantitative approach, the population included all Grade X students in the 2025/2026 academic year. Purposive sampling was applied, with Grade X TKJ A (24 students) as the experimental class and Grade X TKJ B (19 students) as the control class. Data were collected through essay tests, consisting of three validated and reliable items. Data analysis involved assessing normality and homogeneity, as well as conducting hypothesis tests. The results revealed that: (1) Heyzine Flipbook significantly improved students’ understanding of mathematical concepts, (2) conventional learning also showed an effect on students’ understanding, though at a lower level, and (3) a significant difference was found between the two approaches, with Heyzine Flipbook proving more effective in enhancing students’ mathematical concept understanding. 2026-01-05T15:48:06+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Authors https://www.journal.unrika.ac.id/index.php/journalcahayapendidikan/article/view/8670 The contribution of cultural values to education in the Mangupa-upa tradition of the Batak Mandailing community 2026-01-13T05:54:02+07:00 auradiahmeitasarinasution@mail.ugm.ac.id This research is motivated by the importance of preserving cultural values in the Mangupa-upa tradition of the Mandailing Batak people, which has religious, social, and moral significance. The problem addressed in this research is how Mandailing cultural values are reflected in the Mangupa-upa tradition.
